Student Services Department

The Special Services Department is responsible for the educational programs of all identified and classified disabled children in the district, as well as evaluating and diagnosing children who are believed to be in need of special education programs.  The Child Study Team makes recommendations for placement and services.

The Child Study Team includes a learning disability teacher consultant, social worker, psychologist and speech language specialist.  Team members work with teachers and parents to develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each classified studentCase managers also monitor the progress of students and consult with all parties involved. 

Our Programs
Our programs depend upon the individual needs of the identified students. Related services can include speech/language, counseling, occupational and physical therapy. Students can be identified eligible as early as their third birthday. Programs include: Integrated and self-contained preschool classes, in-class resource, pull-out replacement resource, as well as self-contained classes. 

The Delran Special Education Parent Advisory Committee is seeking parent membership from each of our district schools.  Parent representatives will assist the district in planning parent workshops.  In addition, members will serve as a liaison between district administrators and community members in order to support students with special needs.
