Community Service Project

Project completion includes completing a minimum of 15 hours of approved service during a student’s Junior year of high school (starting the first day of summer break), completion of a service log,  and a reflection essay of this service.   Submission of the project will be via google form.

Class of 2024 Service is past due.


Class of 2025   Class of 2025 Service Project will be due on June 1, 2024.

All students must complete an hours log prior to submitting.

Once a student has completed all components of the Community Service Project, (15 or more service hours, printed and completed hours log, have documentation of service, completed reflection essay), they must submit via the submission log.

All students of the Class of 2025 must get service approved prior  to completing your service hours.  Any hours that are not pre-approved may not be counted for service hours.  
APPROVED SERVICE INFORMATION--CLASS OF 2025! PLEASE READ:

Continuing this year:

  • Students who participate in clubs/activities/sports (including managing a sports team) cannot earn hours for being a member or participating in such clubs/activities/sports.   
  • Students can not earn hours for helping staff after school/in kind donations to a club/sport

Starting with the Class of 2025:

  • All service (in house and outside of district) will require documentation. (Signatures are no longer accepted for any service.)
  • If as student participates in a club/sport event (like a camp) where the participants who attend pay money- the event needs to be approved by DHS administration before community service hours can be awarded. In most cases, these events will not count as service.
